He lay there on the grass, all alone, crying, his whole body shaking.I confess that I cried with him. What had happened? Everything began perfect: Cristiano scored the only goal for Manchester with a header (26’). Lampard equalized just before half-time.No more goals, which meant penalty shootout.And then Cristiano missed his penalty! Cristiano, who never fails at penalties!The penalty drama went on. John Terry also failed and Van der Sar’s save vs. Anelka secured Manchester United’s triumph. After the match Cristiano said: “I thought we would lose when I missed my penalty. I thought it would be the worst day of my life. Now it’s the happiest day of my life.” Tomorrow, again in the Luzhniki Stadium, it is “only” the first leg of the CL 1/8 finals.
